Description:
The Florida Board of Massage Therapy requires that, prior to license renewal, all massage therapists attend a 2-hour class in the prevention of medical errors*. Please join us for a fun and informative discussion on this important topic regarding our role in providing safe care to our clients!
The intention of this class is to stimulate thought and discussion regarding the prevention of medical errors in the context of a massage practice. By sharing experiences and ideas about this topic with other Florida LMTs from varying backgrounds, participants have an opportunity to gain awareness of simple ways they might further ensure their own clients’ safety, whether they have been practicing for 5 months or 25 years!
*If you also need to complete your 4-hour requirement in Florida Statutes & Rules and Professional Ethics, you’re in luck! That class will be offered on the same day, and you can find more information here.
About the instructor:
Kristen is a 2003 graduate of The Florida School of Massage, a Certified Hand & Foot Reflexologist since 2008, an instructor at FSM since 2012, and has been teaching Medical Errors Prevention since 2013. She loves the wide variety of LMTs that show up to participate and share their experience in this renewal class, and enjoys making the exploration of medical errors in massage as interesting and useful as possible!
