Per section 18004(e) of the Coronavirus Aid, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Pub. L. No. 116-136, 134 Stat. 281 and under guidance from the Secretary of Education (Secretary), Florida School of Massage (FSM, or the Institution) must publish in a format and location that is easily accessible to the public 30 days after the date when the Institution received its allocation under 18004(a)(1) and updated every 45 days thereafter, the following information regarding the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF):
- FSM acknowledges that it has signed and returned to the Department of Education (ED) the Certification and Agreement and assures that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to its students.
- FSM has received a total amount of $96,011.00 in funds from the Department of Education, pursuant to the ED’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
- As of July 6, 2020, the Institution has distributed $36,000 of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
- The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA) and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 70.
- As of July 6, 2020, a total of 22 eligible students have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
- To provide support to as many students as possible, FSM is providing an equal allocation of funds in the amount of $2,000.00 to each eligible student who completes an application for these funds.
