Hot stones have been used worldwide for centuries. Found in the ancient texts of all five continents, this tradition was used for a variety of therapies such as soothing muscles during childbirth, treating pain and disease as well as utilized in various forms of massage in the Roman and Grecian empires.

Hot stone use has found a renewed prevalence in the modern era and is now the most sought-after modality of clients seeking a deeply relaxing massage. Heated smooth Basalt stones are used with natural oil in long flowing strokes. The heat and pressure from the stones deeply penetrate the skin and musculature, relieving stress and anxiety, aches and pains. Hot stone massage done correctly is one of the most soothing forms of massage. The use of proper draping, oils, temperature, and flow is of utmost importance.
