There was a time in my life when I thought healing meant fixing something that was broken. Whether it was physical pain, emotional strain, or a restless soul—I approached it all with a sort of urgency. That something needed to be changed, resolved, or removed.

But Reiki taught me something very different. Before Reiki came into my life, I had explored a range of healing paths. Some helped for a time. Others felt like stepping stones toward something I couldn’t quite name yet. Then one day, I found myself in a small, quiet Reiki circle, receiving what felt like nothing—and everything. The practitioner barely touched me, but I could feel waves of something—light, love, release. My body softened in a way I hadn’t known it needed to. My breath deepened. My heart opened. Something old fell away. Something true awakened. And I knew I had just crossed a threshold.

What is Reiki, Really?

Reiki is often described as energy healing—and yes, it is that—but it’s also a return. A remembering. A way of listening and being that is not intellectual, not forced, not diagnostic. Reiki works through the hands, but the real gift is presence. It’s what I now call sacred receptivity. Reiki opens the doorway for healing to arise naturally—on its own timeline, with its own intelligence. You simply allow. You listen with your whole being. You become the vessel, and something beautiful flows through you.

The World Needs Energy Medicine

We live in a world that is so loud, so fast, so driven by doing. Many of us—especially those in caregiving or service roles—end up depleted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from our own needs.

Reiki isn’t just a healing technique; it’s an antidote to the exhaustion of over-efforting. It teaches us to soften, to sense, and to surrender—gently. Whether you are a massage therapist, a nurse, a parent, or simply a seeker—Reiki offers a quiet revolution. One that begins in your own body and radiates outward into every part of your life.

A Homecoming to Self

Over the years, I’ve seen Reiki support people through grief, anxiety, physical pain, burnout, trauma, and transformation. And I’ve witnessed countless students awaken their own intuitive gifts—often ones they didn’t even know they had. For me, Reiki was the moment I stopped trying to “fix” myself and began to feel myself. My own inner world became less of a battlefield and more of a sanctuary. And now, I share this work not just as a teacher, but as someone who’s walked the path and found it full of light.

If This Speaks to You…

I’ll be teaching a Reiki weekend workshop this August in Gainesville. It’s a space for deep learning, healing, and connection—with Reiki Levels 1, 2, and 3, and 15 CEUs for massage therapists.
