In my case, I feel as if all the things I do in my daily life are built around arriving in that moment when I get to be present for another human being.
I have a client later today; what a blessing that is! How do I prepare myself?
The morning started with meditation and yoga, then I harvested some vegetables from the garden to make food. Making enough food to share with the residents around me makes the food extra special. Generosity bleeds into all things when our work is being present.
It feels as if the time spent with another human being on the Thai Massage mat or a massage table is a practice space on how we actually want to move through life. Every moment is an opportunity to be present with the breath and each moment allows curiosity on the mobility, flexibility, and nature of the human being.
I observe more than the body in my practice, I listen to the sounds of their voice and the words they choose to speak. I feel the rhythm of their heart beating throughout their skin. I make our time together a meditation so that we can both remember the truth. The truth of every moment being precious. Being witness to nature and being open to the possibility of pure awareness is the tool for one’s self healing.
We humans are all healing, whether we are the recipient or the practitioner. Both roles offer an opportunity for healing and transforming one’s life into beauty and Sacred Service.
