Spend two days with Pete Whitridge exploring the physical and emotional aspects of working with clients’ scars. You will learn effective strategies for helping your clients heal. \n• Refine your touching skills and deepen your knowledge of anatomy\n• Gain confidence working with scar tissue\n• Teach your clients to work with you during therapy\n• Eliminate chronic pain by working below the client’s pain threshold\n• Slow down\, focus your attention\, be more effective with less effort \nThis class will offer a multi-disciplinary approach to working with scars\, burns\, and chronic pain. We will explore myofascial assessments\, deep tissue techniques\, passive and active stretching\, muscle energy techniques\, hydrotherapies\, cross fiber friction\, and self-care.\nWe will review current findings from the Fascia Research Congress and investigate the unique nature of the connective tissues. Deepen your therapy skills by exploring how manual therapies can affect traumatic/surgical scars and burns. He is a founder and Past President of the Alliance For Massage Therapy Education and has dedicated his career to helping establish high standards in massage therapy education. He teaches throughout the US and is a frequent speaker at FSMTA\, FCA and AMTA meetings and conventions. Pete has served on the FL Board of Massage Therapy. He received the FSMTA Charles Canfield Award for service to the massage profession in 2004. He was inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame in 2016 at the World Massage Festival. Archetype movements\, less complex in nature than motor reflex patterns or schemes\, are among the first reflexive movements to develop and emerge. Once engaged\, archetype movements remain present and active in the body\, allowing normal range and flexibility of motion while providing support\, balance\, and stability for the upper and lower\, left and right\, and front and back parts of the body. Archetype motor movements also play a subordinate role in the maturation and integration of progressively more complex reflexes\, including primary motor reflex patterns\, motor reflex schemes\, and the development of learned motor skills. \nIf an archetype movement is not appropriately engaged\, its impact can be great given the subordinate role it plays in maturation and development. Originally receiving her Master’s in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in Belgium\, she has been licensed and practicing in Florida since 1996 and has been a Neonatal Intensive Care specialist since 2001. About 10 years ago\, Isabelle was introduced to the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration Method. The discovery of this method brought a whole new dimension to her professional career as well as to her personal life! She has since completed hundreds of hours of MNRI classes and has been accruing close to one thousand of clinical hours of MNRI techniques working directly with Dr. Masgutova and her international team. Isabelle’s enthusiasm for teaching is obvious\, and she brings and shares many practical applications and pictures/videos of concrete clinical cases during her classes. Learning in painless\, through fascinating investigations of movement.
