This includes when to apply specific treatments in coordination with the athletes training protocol. \nWe will use our orthopedic assessment techniques for in the moment event situations. \nThis course will prepare therapists to work with athletes before\, during\, after events and on recovery days. \nTherapists will see a demonstration of techniques and have an adequate amount of time practice. \nThis course will help you or your clients recover faster\, perform better and avoid injury. \nYou will receive a detailed manual for this course. \nAthlete Focused: Pre-event\, Post-event\, Maintenance and Timing is a 16 hour CEU Certified class \nThis course is part of the Orthopedic and Sports Massage Certification. These certification classes do not need to be taken in sequence and can be taken as single weekend educational trainings. If students complete all six courses they will receive a Certification in Orthopedic and Sports Massage. \nOur 96 hour\, six course certification will help our students gain a deeper understanding of soft tissue injuries\, how to treat them and what causes them. We will use the study of the anatomy to get a wider comprehension of the musculature and other structures that support movement to enhance the students understanding of how function is achieved in the body. In addition\, our courses will be based heavily around learning assessment protocols. These classes will deepen your understanding of injury and pain and advance your confidence to provide treatment to your clients. \nAdvanced Certification Page \nAbout the Instructors\nCristian Arroyo has been a practicing LMT/Personal Trainer for 23 years. He has developed a professional clinical practice working with athletes and the general population\, specializing in the causes and treatments for pain\, injury and discomfort. His years of experience lend to a thorough understanding of dysfunction in the body which supports a more efficient and positive treatment protocol for his clients. \nIn addition to massage therapy\, Cristian has trained extensively in functional anatomy\, sports massage\, corrective exercise training/programming\, and orthopedic assessment. Cristian has been an instructor of Kinesiology\, Neuromuscular Therapy\, and Sports Massage at the Florida School of Massage since 2005. He has shared his passion and enthusiasm for understanding human function with thousands of students over the years\, often bringing his clinical experience in the real world to the classroom. \nKeith Mulford has been practicing massage since 2009 and instructing in Swedish\, Sports\, Neuromuscular Massage and Applied Kinesiology at the Florida School of Massage since 2016. In 2011 he completed his certification in Integrative Massage and Personal Training. During his studies he became skilled in assessing and treating injuries\, orthopedic testing\, functional movement and specific bodywork treatments focusing on injuries. His extensive studies in visceral massage and sports massage are reflected in his work with his clients. We will discuss fight or flight and how to avoid it with pain-free deep tissue techniques. And most importantly communication to your clients about what to expect from these pain-free deep tissue techniques. We will also be adding aromatherapy to provide an additional layer of relaxation and nervous system regulation. \nAbout the instructor\nAmber graduated from Florida School of Massage in 2009. She is an LMT\, Aromatherapist\, Reiki Master\, and Certified Meditation teacher. This moved me in the same way it must have moved my teacher\, Kam Thy Chow as well. \nOf course the sequences give us a foundation but ultimately one must become intuitive and have an understanding of the elemental body. This is how Ayurveda can come to play. \nIn this class we will break down the winds and how they affect our emotions. How to choose postures to balance different constitutions and how to understand the importance of feeling each of the elements in our own body so we are practicing with Wisdom. In this class we breathe life into the sequence. \nWe will learn to identify the Doshas\, Vayus and Pulse points. A breakdown of some of the Buddhist foundations such as\, Sila\, Samhadi and Panya. Either way you can either jump in one weekend at a time or you can commit to all seven and graduate at the next cycle. \nAbout Ariela Grodner\nAriela Grodner is the founder and lead instructor and practitioner at the Bodhi Sangha School of Thai Massage. She began her teaching career in 1992 in the south of India educating prisoners and tribal villagers in the benefits and practice of Shivananda Yoga. Then she spent many years cultivating the Buddhist meditation technique known as Vipassana. Later in following her Tao she discovered the joys of improvisational contact dance. After graduating from Florida School of Massage she discovered Thai Massage the perfect fusion of these techniques and practices. She is a certified Lotus Palm Practitioner (as taught by Kam Thye Chow) and has taught Thai Massage at the Florida School of Massage since 2004. \nAriela has developed over 300 hours of curriculum has published 9 books on this subject and travels nationally and internationally sharing her love of this art.
