SUMMARY:Somatic Massage and the Parasympathetic Response
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Adrienne Engel\, LMT\, SEP\nDates:\nSaturday\, September 12th\, 2026\nSaturday\, January 9th\, 2027\nTime: 8:30 am – 6 pm (Including a 1 hour lunch)\nWorkshop Price: $150.00 (Early bird pricing of $125.00)\nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 8 CE credits (Florida and NCBTMB)\nCourse ID: 70275330\nTo Register: Text Adrienne at (352) 222-0236 for a payment link\nQuestions? Contact: Adrienne Engel 352-222-0236 or email at inbodymeant@gmail.com (text is better) \nWorkshop description: \nYour nervous system has a built-in mechanism that gently and dynamically releases pressure throughout your body. This creates an open pathway that helps your system integrate both current stress and long-held tension. When you guide your clients in activating this mechanism\, it enhances the effectiveness of any approach you use. Additionally\, it equips your clients with a long-term skill to reduce stress and pressure anytime\, anywhere\, making your job easier and improving their lives. \nThis 8-hour course will prepare massage therapists to recognize and engage the mechanism of the parasympathetic response in their clients. The parasympathetic response allows the body and mind to release and integrate tension. Students will learn to use their awareness\, support\, presence\, and language to facilitate parasympathetic responses. Students will learn the anatomy of the autonomic nervous system and how to track both sympathetic and parasympathetic states. Upon completing this class\, they will guide their clients in activating a parasympathetic response both in their sessions and daily lives. The active parasympathetic response is the foundation of somatic massage. \nTherapist bio – For more Information on Adrienne Engel visit https://www.inbodymeant.com/pages/adrienne-engels-experience-and-cred

SUMMARY:Thai Massage Certification Phase 5 - Ayurvedic Applications to Thai Massage
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Ariela Grodner\nDate: July 25 – 26\, 2026\nTime: 9AM – 6PM\nCourse Tuition: \n$1800 if registering for all seven levels in advance\n$280 if registering for each class individually\n$350 for a single drop in.\nStudents who commit to all 7 class will get a discount\, If you miss a class for whatever reason\, it can be made up next cycle. \nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 18 CEs per weekend or 126 CEs for all phases (Florida and NCBTMB) \nTo Register: Visit Bodhi Sanha’s event page \nQuestions? Contact: Ariela at arielagrodner@yahoo.com \nDescription:\nOne day the student asked if Thai-Massage is just a series of memorized sequences. This moved me in the same way it must have moved my teacher\, Kam Thy Chow as well. \nOf course the sequences give us a foundation but ultimately one must become intuitive and have an understanding of the elemental body. This is how Ayurveda can come to play. \nIn this class we will break down the winds and how they affect our emotions. How to choose postures to balance different constitutions and how to understand the importance of feeling each of the elements in our own body so we are practicing with Wisdom. In this class we breathe life into the sequence. \nWe will learn to identify the Doshas\, Vayus and Pulse points. A breakdown of some of the Buddhist foundations such as\, Sila\, Samhadi and Panya. Which of the foundations of all good Thai practitioners. \n \nAriela Compares this class to the Wizard of Oz when it goes from Black and White to multi color. Its a wonderful weekend of energy work. \nWhen you apply for the course you will see the option for registering for all seven or just one. If you would like the discount since you’re applying for all seven and you missed the first few classes you can apply this tuition toward the next cycle. Either way you can either jump in one weekend at a time or you can commit to all seven and graduate at the next cycle. \nAbout Ariela Grodner\nAriela Grodner is the founder and lead instructor and practitioner at the Bodhi Sangha School of Thai Massage. She began her teaching career in 1992 in the south of India educating prisoners and tribal villagers in the benefits and practice of Shivananda Yoga. Then she spent many years cultivating the Buddhist meditation technique known as Vipassana. Later in following her Tao she discovered the joys of improvisational contact dance. After graduating from Florida School of Massage she discovered Thai Massage the perfect fusion of these techniques and practices. She is a certified Lotus Palm Practitioner (as taught by Kam Thye Chow) and has taught Thai Massage at the Florida School of Massage since 2004. \nAriela has developed over 300 hours of curriculum has published 9 books on this subject and travels nationally and internationally sharing her love of this art.

By creating a sense of relief and safety in the neck and head\, we can positively impact the entire nervous system. In this class\, you will learn a simple yet profoundly effective session flow designed to help your clients’ heads\, necks\, and jaws relax within the safety of the parasympathetic response. These techniques have been essential in supporting my clients dealing with PTSD\, trauma\, grief and loss\, shock\, recovery from addictions\, and significant mental health challenges. \nThis 16-hour course will focus on the muscles supporting the Jaw and occipital region. Massage therapists will learn the anatomy of the automatic nervous system and how to track both sympathetic and parasympathetic responses. Contact: Ariela at arielagrodner@yahoo.com \nDescription:\nJoin us for a weekend of Sideline Postures that was taught to Ariela by Laurino Bertelli from the Sunshine Network in Chang Mai\, Thailand. \nIn this weekend you will be able to work more effectively on pregnant clients as well as athletes. \nThis modified sequence wil give us many more options to address classic Hip and Shoulder Pain in this orthodox Sideline Position and it is a dynamic style that will bring more diversity\, beauty and curiosity to your work. \nThis will be our sixth weekend together. It is a combination of Ayurveda\, energy lines and advanced posture is in the sideline position. A lot of the Siddhi postures we’ve learned in phase 3 will be reviewed but in the sideline position. It is a dynamic workshop that offers ways to address the body in such a beautiful and creative way. I am thankful to the Sunshine net work and the teachers who brought this lineage to me in Montreal many years ago shortly after Asokananda passed. It felt like a true gift to my practice and it is a pleasure to share it to serious students of Thai-Massage. \n \nWhen you apply for the course you will see the option for registering for all seven or just one. SUMMARY:Thai Massage Certification Phase 7 - Thai Foot Reflexology
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Ariela Grodner\nDate: Sept 26 – 27\, 2026\nTime: 9AM – 6PM\nCourse Tuition: \n$1800 if registering for all seven levels in advance\n$280 if registering for each class individually\n$350 for a single drop in.\nStudents who commit to all 7 class will get a discount\, If you miss a class for whatever reason\, it can be made up next cycle. \nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 18 CEs per weekend or 126 CEs for all phases (Florida and NCBTMB) \nTo Register: Visit Bodhi Sanha’s event page \nQuestions? Contact: Ariela at arielagrodner@yahoo.com \nDescription:\nThis is our seventh class in our long journey together and it will be an honoring of ones walk into the world as Tai Yogis! We will have a celebration and graduation at the end of class. If you would like to attend as a single workshop we absolutely invite you to join us. This class stands alone and no other experience needed except to want to share compassionate loving touch through the feet. \nIn this workshop students will learn to give an hour long session on the feet alone\, while still affecting the whole body through aware stimulation of the sen lines and marma points. Utilizing both dry and wet massage (with and without oil) as well as a Thai foot stick\, to glide the lines and press the points with greater accuracy and precision then the hands alone could provide. The style we will be exploring is a method derived from Shivaga Komarpaj of the Chiang Mai school of Thai Massage\, and is for everyone\, therapists and lay people alike. This is a powerful healing tool that can be implemented on it’s own\, or as an addition to the full body massage. No prior massage experience is necessary to be educated in this methodology.

SUMMARY:Biodynamic Cranial Approach ~ Touch of Presence® Introductory Course
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Giorgia Milne \nTime: 9AM-6PM (with 90-minute lunch)\nWorkshop Price: $600 for new students / $300 to repeat if registered and paid by Dec 31\, 2025; $650/$325 starting January 1\, 2026\nLocation: Gainesville Retreat Center\nCE Hours: 24 Florida and NCBTMB \n  \nSuggested Reading: \nAn Osteopathic Odyssey by James Jealous\nRadical Wholeness: The Embodied Present and the Ordinary Grace of Being by Philip Shepherd\nEngaging the Movment of Life by Bonnie Gintis\nInterface by R. Paul Lee\nStillness by Charles Ridley \nStudents will need to bring a massage table\, 2 flat sheets\, two pillows\, and a blanket. \nTo Register: Visit https://www.touchofpresence.com/courses-schedule-registration \nClasses will take place at the Gainesville Retreat Center \nThis course is an introduction to the Biodynamic Craniosacral Approach\, which can be offered as a pure hands-on practice\, or incorporated as a primary disposition that integrates and informs any other modality\, as well as daily life. It is followed by a deeper dive opportunity in the form the Intensive Course which spans four 4-day weekends over the course of 1 year. \nThe Biodynamic Cranial Approach Introduction allows students to learn directly through felt-sense-experience by feelingly inhabiting the inner body space.  Rather than focusing on an outside-in model of learning (like focusing on craniosacral anatomy or treatment protocols) this course allows students to learn directly via supervised session exchanges and group discussions.  Embodiment and centering practices lay the foundation for the work\, and the “teaching” comes from the “inside-out” via the students’ direct experiences. \nDuring the Introduction Course students learn to touch from a grounded sense of present awareness in a way that is non-efferent (meaning ‘I don’t leave here to go over there’)\, non-doing (being practice\, not doing practice)\, and in tonal resonance with primary respiration and the natural inherent Health and Wisdom of the body. Great care and emphasis are made to cease all efferent activity and intervention\, encouraging students to stay with the feeling-tone (or felt-sense) of what is\, as it is.  Without the symptom-treatment overlay\, students rest in silence\, stillness\, and their natural state of presence and being to directly access primary respiration in their inner bodies.  This approach & teaching method mirror one of the instructions of Dr. William Sutherland – to “trust the tide”.  By allowing the inherent physiological forces within to guide the sessions and the learning\, the natural world and the Breath of Life begin to reveal themselves. \nThis course is Open to anyone wishing to develop personally or to investigate pursuing a committed professional track.  The Introductory Course is for all health practitioners\, psychotherapists\, movement therapists\, and bodyworkers new to cranial work.  It is required for all craniosacral practitioners or other biodynamic practitioners who wish to learn more about the type of biodynamics we teach before undertaking a committed yearlong study of Biodynamic Cranial Approach ~ Touch of Presence® Intensive. \nThis Introduction Course is the required prerequisite for the Biodynamic Cranial Approach Intensive — the year long immersion in this approach. For more information\, visit the Biodynamic Cranial Approach ~ Touch of Presence® Intensive Certification page. \nGo to https://www.touchofpresence.com/courses-schedule-registration to register\nQuestions? Contact Mary at 352-246-6280 ph/txt or mary@touchofpresence.com \nGiorgia Milne founded Touch of Presence® School for Biodynamic Studies in 2021. She embodies well over 35 years of personal and professional development from allopathic skill to the healing energy work of all the major craniosacral and related approaches. She continues to be evolved by her originating transmission impulse\, which is at the heart and essence of all her offerings in this Biodynamic Cranial Approach (BCA). Giorgia is a graduate of the Stanford University Physician Assistant Program and former Primary Care Provider. She travels extensively offering Touch of Presence® BCA Introductions\, Intensives\, Retreats\, and numerous other course topics emphasizing biodynamic principles inherent to the perspective of Touch of Presence® BCA.

SUMMARY:Thai Massage Certification Phase 3 - Advanced Postures of Thai Massage
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Ariela Grodner\nDate: May 16 – 17\, 2026\nTime: 9AM – 6PM\nCourse Tuition: \n$1800 if registering for all seven levels in advance\n$280 if registering for each class individually\n$350 for a single drop in.\nStudents who commit to all 7 class will get a discount\, If you miss a class for whatever reason\, it can be made up next cycle. \nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 18 CEs per weekend or 126 CEs for all phases (Florida and NCBTMB) \nTo Register: Visit Bodhi Sanha’s event page \nQuestions? Contact: Ariela at arielagrodner@yahoo.com \nDescription:\nLet’s learn the amazing “Seated Sequence” together! \nThai Massage is Flat without the knowledge of how to apply touch in the seated position. In this workshop\, we will learn the beautiful “Lotus Palm” version of seated along with an advanced focus on digestion and some fancy flips with deeper back bends for more flexible clients. \nThe deeper component of this workshop is the ability to assess how to create a session depending on who shows up. At this point we’ve learned the foot sequence\, the single leg sequence\, sideline sequence\, prone sequence\, double leg sequence and closing sequence. By adding the seated sequence we can pick and choose how we want to begin our session depending on our clients in balance. It is perfectly acceptable to leave out things and spend more time with other things. I called this class collage because we’ve reached a point in our practice where we can design our canvas specifically to the needs of our partner.

About 10 years into my career\, I was getting bored and started to look for CEU classes that I could relate to. I found Lomi Lomi. Lomi changed the way I work in Swedish and how I think about massage.  It brought me back to what I thought massage should be. \n What is  HAWAIIAN LOMI MASSAGE ?  If you think of massage as a powerful form of healing\, then Lomi must be considered one of the most profound forms of massage. \nWhere Lomi differs from traditional Swedish massage is simple.  Lomi works the whole body and not just the individual parts. Lomi looks at the body not just as a group of muscles\, but rather a complete being allowing healing to take place at various levels. \nWith Swedish massage you can guess when it is time to turn over and when the massage is near completion. Traditional massage therapists are taught to work the body from part to part which allows the client to anticipate which part will be worked on next. \nLomi works the whole body in a continuous rhythm of long flowing strokes. The therapist does what is best described as a dance around the entire body.  They will then concentrate on an arm\, or a leg\, or the back\, working as deeply as needed\, and then go back to the full body dance. The therapist never really knows what part they will work on next.  They are guided by their intuition as well as what your body tells them needs to be worked on. \nThis kind of spontaneous flow is designed to clear the client’s mind and allows them to relax and receive the work. As important as the physical act of massage is during the session\, the healing that can take place as the work is being done is as important. \nThe best example of what Lomi is intended to do is very simple.  Think of yourself as an empty bowl the day you were born. All along your path in life\, the bowl gets full of stones. Those stones show up due to the everyday stress of your life\, your work and your relationships. Lomi is designed to bring you to a safe and loving space where you can\, should you choose to\, throw out some of those stones and to come out of the session lighter and with a greater sense of well-being. \nThe Hawaiians think of the body as being a physical\, mental\, emotional and spiritual whole. When healing takes place on one level\, then healing will take place on all levels. \nFor more information and workshop schedules and to see a video of our work please go to www.lomimassageamelia.com

In Thai Massage we cultivate an awareness of the “sen” lines and practice various techniques with the intent of bringing them into balance with each other. \nTwo of the greatest practitioners of our time (Asokananda\, Kam Thye Chow) pieced together fragments found in various Buddhist temples around the world\, and together have co-created a modern interpretation of this ancient knowledge. At this stage in the deepening of our skills and awareness of the present we will honor the continuation of the Thai Massage lineage through extending our conscious knowledge and encompassing a more subtle comprehension of the bodies energy pathways. \n \nIn this class we will learn a sequence for each line and really feel the quality it brings to our work. When you apply for the course you will see the option for registering for all seven or just one. Participants can do either a single day or both days. \nCourse Description\nThese courses are designed to be taken together or as individual classes. Either way works well. \nThe ability to offer good specific treatment to areas of the body can distinguish a therapist. When a client has the need to have a condition addressed\, a thorough knowledge of the anatomical structure and contractile tissue associated can be instrumental in helping that person. How much do you remember from massage school or from classes you have taken since? If one is not reviewing on a regular basis what we once knew can slowly or even quickly fade away. \nGetting Specific is a series of one- or two-day workshop experiences that focus on specific areas of the body. Anatomical structures\, synergistic muscle groups\, and effective techniques associated with each specific area of the body will be covered. Use of audio-visual aids\, lecture and hands-on palpation will help the participant get clearer on what they are touching. Demonstrations will address techniques that are useful for the area presented. Lots of hands-on time will be available with the opportunity to interact with the instructor will be offered. This will be a great way to review and build your skills. \nThe Saturday class will be focused on the head and neck. The anatomy will cover the occiput\, cervical processes\, jaw and scapula attachments\, as well as understanding the working movements of the vertebrae and joint structures. You will learn specific treatment techniques for the scalenes\, prevertebrals\, suboccipitals\, paraspinals\, as well as the trapezius and levator scapula. We will play with ways to support the head and neck as well as adding movement to your treatment techniques and enjoy becoming more confident and comfortable working with the head and neck. \nThe Sunday class will focus on the shoulder. The shoulder functionally begins superiorly at the occiput and mastoid process of the skull and inferiorly at the ilium and sacrum. It is anchored in the axial skeleton including vertebrae\, ribs and sternum and ends in the radius and ulna. In this workshop\, we will explore the major components of this wonderfully moveable part of the body. Specific focus on the shoulder girdle\, rotator cuff\, and scapula attachments and musculature including techniques to treat these areas will be shared. We will do sideline work as well as prone and supine. The use of movement will be explored to enhance the effectiveness of this work. Come join and play with this important region of the body. \nYou are invited to participate either one or both days. There is an early registration discount for either class if you register three weeks in advance. I encourage you to take advantage of the early registration discounts. \nYou will need to bring sheets\, lube\, 2-4 pillows for sideline work for the shoulder class and your curiosity and a participatory interest. There will be massage tables available on site. \nAgain to register for these courses or to get more information please contact Frank Merillat via email at fmerillat@mac.com or call (352) 371-0743 or 352 213-4603 (cell or text). \n  \nAbout the instructor:\nFrank has been studying massage and the movement body since 1993\, he is a certified Trager Practitioner\, certified in sports massage and has taught at the Florida School of Massage since 1995.
