SUMMARY:Getting Specific with the Head and Neck
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Frank Merillat\nDates:\nNeck – August 15\, 2026\nShoulder – August 16\, 2026\nTime: 9AM-6PM\nWorkshop Price: The cost for one day is $150 with the early registration discount. It is $175 if received after July 22nd. The cost for attending both days is $300. (Remember early bird must received by July 22nd)\nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 9 Florida CEs for one day\, or 18 Florida CEs if taking both days. These are Florida approved\, live and in person and relevant to massage CEs.\nTo register or for more information contact: Frank Merillat at (352) 371-0743\, 352 213-4603 (cell or text)\, or by e-mail at fmerillat@mac.com\nSaturday will focus on the neck\, Sunday will focus on shoulder. Participants can do either a single day or both days. \nCourse Description\nThese courses are designed to be taken together or as individual classes. Either way works well. \nThe ability to offer good specific treatment to areas of the body can distinguish a therapist. When a client has the need to have a condition addressed\, a thorough knowledge of the anatomical structure and contractile tissue associated can be instrumental in helping that person. How much do you remember from massage school or from classes you have taken since? If one is not reviewing on a regular basis what we once knew can slowly or even quickly fade away. \nGetting Specific is a series of one- or two-day workshop experiences that focus on specific areas of the body. Anatomical structures\, synergistic muscle groups\, and effective techniques associated with each specific area of the body will be covered. Use of audio-visual aids\, lecture and hands-on palpation will help the participant get clearer on what they are touching. Demonstrations will address techniques that are useful for the area presented. Lots of hands-on time will be available with the opportunity to interact with the instructor will be offered. This will be a great way to review and build your skills. \nThe Saturday class will be focused on the head and neck. The anatomy will cover the occiput\, cervical processes\, jaw and scapula attachments\, as well as understanding the working movements of the vertebrae and joint structures. You will learn specific treatment techniques for the scalenes\, prevertebrals\, suboccipitals\, paraspinals\, as well as the trapezius and levator scapula. We will play with ways to support the head and neck as well as adding movement to your treatment techniques and enjoy becoming more confident and comfortable working with the head and neck. \nThe Sunday class will focus on the shoulder. The shoulder functionally begins superiorly at the occiput and mastoid process of the skull and inferiorly at the ilium and sacrum. It is anchored in the axial skeleton including vertebrae\, ribs and sternum and ends in the radius and ulna. In this workshop\, we will explore the major components of this wonderfully moveable part of the body. Specific focus on the shoulder girdle\, rotator cuff\, and scapula attachments and musculature including techniques to treat these areas will be shared. We will do sideline work as well as prone and supine. The use of movement will be explored to enhance the effectiveness of this work. Come join and play with this important region of the body. \nYou are invited to participate either one or both days. There is an early registration discount for either class if you register three weeks in advance. I encourage you to take advantage of the early registration discounts. \nYou will need to bring sheets\, lube\, 2-4 pillows for sideline work for the shoulder class and your curiosity and a participatory interest. There will be massage tables available on site. \nAgain to register for these courses or to get more information please contact Frank Merillat via email at fmerillat@mac.com or call (352) 371-0743 or 352 213-4603 (cell or text). \n  \nAbout the instructor:\nFrank has been studying massage and the movement body since 1993\, he is a certified Trager Practitioner\, certified in sports massage and has taught at the Florida School of Massage since 1995. He taught Kinesiology (the movement body) from 1995 through 2019\, Neuromuscular Therapy starting in 2000 and numerous other classes at the school. He combines his work based on his study in the field to include myofascial approach\, neuromuscular therapy\, movement awareness\, cranial work combined with compassion for his clients and understanding of the movement body and the use of client communication and interaction. He has worked in a medical practice\, with the University of Florida women gymnasts and has managed his own clinic while maintaining his ongoing private practice. He has been offering Florida approved workshops since 2010. He loves the outdoors\, fishing\, playing with his dogs\, traveling and interaction with fellow humans.

Contact: Ariela at arielagrodner@yahoo.com \nDescription:\nJoin us for a weekend of Sideline Postures that was taught to Ariela by Laurino Bertelli from the Sunshine Network in Chang Mai\, Thailand. \nIn this weekend you will be able to work more effectively on pregnant clients as well as athletes. \nThis modified sequence wil give us many more options to address classic Hip and Shoulder Pain in this orthodox Sideline Position and it is a dynamic style that will bring more diversity\, beauty and curiosity to your work. \nThis will be our sixth weekend together. It is a combination of Ayurveda\, energy lines and advanced posture is in the sideline position. A lot of the Siddhi postures we’ve learned in phase 3 will be reviewed but in the sideline position. It is a dynamic workshop that offers ways to address the body in such a beautiful and creative way. I am thankful to the Sunshine net work and the teachers who brought this lineage to me in Montreal many years ago shortly after Asokananda passed. It felt like a true gift to my practice and it is a pleasure to share it to serious students of Thai-Massage. \n \nWhen you apply for the course you will see the option for registering for all seven or just one. If you would like the discount since you’re applying for all seven and you missed the first few classes you can apply this tuition toward the next cycle. Either way you can either jump in one weekend at a time or you can commit to all seven and graduate at the next cycle.

SUMMARY:Somatic Massage and the Parasympathetic Response
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Adrienne Engel\, LMT\, SEP\nDates:\nSaturday\, September 12th\, 2026\nSaturday\, January 9th\, 2027\nTime: 8:30 am – 6 pm (Including a 1 hour lunch)\nWorkshop Price: $150.00 (Early bird pricing of $125.00)\nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 8 CE credits (Florida and NCBTMB)\nCourse ID: 70275330\nTo Register: Text Adrienne at (352) 222-0236 for a payment link\nQuestions? Contact: Adrienne Engel 352-222-0236 or email at inbodymeant@gmail.com (text is better) \nWorkshop description: \nYour nervous system has a built-in mechanism that gently and dynamically releases pressure throughout your body. This creates an open pathway that helps your system integrate both current stress and long-held tension. When you guide your clients in activating this mechanism\, it enhances the effectiveness of any approach you use. Additionally\, it equips your clients with a long-term skill to reduce stress and pressure anytime\, anywhere\, making your job easier and improving their lives. \nThis 8-hour course will prepare massage therapists to recognize and engage the mechanism of the parasympathetic response in their clients. The parasympathetic response allows the body and mind to release and integrate tension. Students will learn to use their awareness\, support\, presence\, and language to facilitate parasympathetic responses. Students will learn the anatomy of the autonomic nervous system and how to track both sympathetic and parasympathetic states. Upon completing this class\, they will guide their clients in activating a parasympathetic response both in their sessions and daily lives. The active parasympathetic response is the foundation of somatic massage. \nTherapist bio – For more Information on Adrienne Engel visit https://www.inbodymeant.com/pages/adrienne-engels-experience-and-cred

SUMMARY:Thai Massage Certification Phase 7 - Thai Foot Reflexology
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Ariela Grodner\nDate: Sept 26 – 27\, 2026\nTime: 9AM – 6PM\nCourse Tuition: \n$1800 if registering for all seven levels in advance\n$280 if registering for each class individually\n$350 for a single drop in.\nStudents who commit to all 7 class will get a discount\, If you miss a class for whatever reason\, it can be made up next cycle. \nLocation: Florida School of Massage\nCE Hours: 18 CEs per weekend or 126 CEs for all phases (Florida and NCBTMB) \nTo Register: Visit Bodhi Sanha’s event page \nQuestions? Contact: Ariela at arielagrodner@yahoo.com \nDescription:\nThis is our seventh class in our long journey together and it will be an honoring of ones walk into the world as Tai Yogis! We will have a celebration and graduation at the end of class. If you would like to attend as a single workshop we absolutely invite you to join us. This class stands alone and no other experience needed except to want to share compassionate loving touch through the feet. \nIn this workshop students will learn to give an hour long session on the feet alone\, while still affecting the whole body through aware stimulation of the sen lines and marma points. Utilizing both dry and wet massage (with and without oil) as well as a Thai foot stick\, to glide the lines and press the points with greater accuracy and precision then the hands alone could provide. The style we will be exploring is a method derived from Shivaga Komarpaj of the Chiang Mai school of Thai Massage\, and is for everyone\, therapists and lay people alike. This is a powerful healing tool that can be implemented on it’s own\, or as an addition to the full body massage. No prior massage experience is necessary to be educated in this methodology.
