One event on August 17, 2019 at 10:00 am

$80 – $90
Instructor: Ann Harman

Time: Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM
Workshop Price: $90 / $80 if paid one month prior; $80 for current FSM students
Location: Florida School of Massage
CE Hours: 6 CE hours, NCBTMB are awarded

Description:

We will use the gentle movement sequences of the Feldenkrais Method® to learn to relax the mouth, jaw, and related structures. Rather than looking at this area as isolated from the rest of the body, we will discover how it is influenced by other structures such as the pelvis, spine, tongue and throat. We will practice exploratory exercises which not only illuminate these relationships, but also help the participant to relax hypertonic muscles, increase range of motion, and decrease pain in these areas.

These pleasurable and relaxing exercises will be accompanied by lecture/discussion, in language understandable by lay people, to clarify the relevant anatomy and physiology, as well as the pertinent philosophy and strategies of the Feldenkrais Method®

The requirement for hands-one will be met by demonstration, so there will be no need for close contact.

This workshop is open to the general public, so you may invite clients who want to come to learn self-care.
